Our Story
From the Ground Up
Hero Fence was founded on the core principles of hard work, honesty, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. These principles were instilled in me by my grandfather, who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. During the Great Depression, he sold worms by the side of the road to make ends meet. Later, as a Navy man, he honed his skills as a dental lab technician, and went on to build a successful dental practice.

When he wasn’t working, he was giving back—donating his time and skills to help others. His dedication to helping his community and always doing things the right way is the foundation upon which Hero Fence was built.

​I’ve carried those lessons with me every step of the way, and it’s why Hero Fence operates with the same focus on integrity and hard work. We take pride in every fence we build, knowing it’s more than just a job—it’s a reflection of who we are.

Daniel is the heart and soul behind Hero Fence. As the owner and founder, he’s committed to delivering the highest quality fencing services in the Vancouver area. With a background in construction and a passion for craftsmanship, Daniel oversees all aspects of the business, from customer relations to project execution. His hands-on approach ensures every job is completed to the highest standard, and his dedication to quality and integrity shines through in every project. When he’s not working on fences, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and the rest of the Hero Fence family.

His expertise and attention to detail make him a key asset to our team.

Growing up in Washougal, Larry has a long history of experience in nearly every aspect of business, and his vast network of connections makes him a driving force at Hero Fence. From negotiating with vendors to working directly with clients, Larry’s stories and experiences help shape the way we approach our work. Larry also loves spending time on the water, whether it’s fishing or just relaxing on the Columbia River.

With over 20 years of experience, Sonny is our Lead Fence Installer, bringing unparalleled attention to detail and craftsmanship to every project. His commitment to excellence and dedication to his craft have earned him a reputation as one of the best in the business. When he’s not installing fences, Sonny enjoys fishing on the Columbia River and spending time with his family.
Alexandra Elzinga
Operations Specialist

As the Operations Specialist, Alexandra is the glue that holds Hero Fence together. She manages everything from scheduling and logistics to ensuring our team has the resources they need to succeed. With her sharp organizational skills and attention to detail, Alexandra helps keep projects on track and ensures customers have the best experience possible. Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering in the community.

Jack, Larry’s loyal dog, is a beloved member of the Hero Fence team. He enjoys coming along to job sites, offering company and a few good laughs along the way. While his main role is to keep everyone entertained and add some joy to the day, Jack also takes his job as "Head of Security" very seriously—if there's a squirrel nearby, you’ll know about it!
